Q&A Best Songs To Play When Forming A New Rock Band

Q&A Best songs to play when forming a new rock band?

A Question asked what are the best songs to play when forming a new rock band?
This is a very tricky question to answer specifically, by that I mean I cant tell you to learn 3 Beatles songs, 3 nirvana songs, a Elvis song etc.
What I did when I first started was learn my favourite songs that I enjoyed listening too, and I performed them, the reason why is that it kept my attention span longer, I had fun and I got to play what I love.
Years later I now learn songs catered to my audience, for instance I don’t particularly enjoy ED SHEERAN but I have learned some of his songs because my audience at bars and party’s always request him.
So I say to you, pick 3 songs you love to listen to, and learn them, pick a open mic or jam night and test the waters.
some song ideas people wrote to me as suggestions to this are below but again these are each individuals personal favourite songs.
“London Calling” by The Clash
“Dazed and Confused” by Led Zeppelin
“Sunday Morning” by The Velvet Underground
“Almost Cut My Hair” by CSNYYou could put your own twist on any of these songs.

Metallica- Seek and Destroy. A cover band classic
Iron Man, paranoid-Black SabbathThe Number of the beast, phantom of the opera-Iron Maiden
Metallica songs
The ones that best fit the genre you are going for
how about your own music
Blink 182
Miley cyrus
